Who We Are

Pheelco Entertainment is an independent music label and entertainment company dedicated to amplifying bold, boundary-breaking sound. Founded as the creative home of Hypnotic Brass Ensemble — seven brothers whose father, the legendary Phil Cohran of the AACM and Sun Ra Arkestra, instilled in them a lifelong devotion to music.
From busking on the streets of Chicago to headlining festivals across six continents, Pheelco has grown into a globally recognized platform for artists who refuse to be confined by genre. We champion the kind of music that makes people move, think, and feel — all at once.
Our roster spans jazz, hip-hop, funk, soul, Afrobeat, and everything in between. Every release on Pheelco carries a signature commitment to authenticity, live energy, and creative fearlessness. We believe music is a living, breathing art — and we treat it that way.
